Non Cichlid Wet Pet for 75 gallon

Black piranhas are fairly easy to get online... And is see the snakehead is out lol... There are few advantages to living in the UK but owning snakeheads is a big one.

A 75 would probably do well for maybe 3 red bellies as well. Piranhas are usually in schools, so I'm not sure how well they thrive with only one in a tank. Red wolf is also a good choice. Personally, I'd go for a polypterus, though.

I know I'm probably going to get a lot of hate for this, but I say get a divider and have two bettas and two tetra (or similar) communities to go with them.

Example: each side would have 1 betta, maybe two groups of tetras and either cory cats or kuhlli loaches as bottom feeders, but the bettas would be the main features aka "pets".

They have tons of personality as well. :D

Post Script: No hate please, I like bettas and would love to see more people keeping them in decent sized tanks. Again, no hate please. :)

^ could do one of the smaller species of puffer, only problem is, the only active ones tend to be either 5" or less, otherwise you you need a much larger tank for a Fahaka or MBU...

Without the barbs fancy goldfish are said to be great. I am getting some in December.

Kissing gourami are also said to be great pets if well looked after.

I would say piranha are out of the question for a tank this small. There are very few that can really be kept in a 75 and RB are not one of them

No hate Kitties, I think a lot of people would be loth to house two Betta's in 35 gallons of water each; not merely on the how much size they need principle, but actually seeing them in a tank that size.

I think the Betta tank size debate is a good one, for me; i won't house one in any tank with a height greater than 10 inches, since in the wild the rice paddies tend to be around that size; and what with the requirement to reach the top of the water for air etc, it just seems wholly unnatural the depth of a 75g.

By the same token, I do think the low height, should be coupled with an expanse of water for Betta to claim territory too; since in the wild they are suggested to patrol an area of about 3 square feet of territory.

I find it unlikely that the majority of enthusiasts will be willing to or able to provide such an aquarium though, in which case my suggested alternative would be to do it on a smaller scale; but pack densely with vegetation, thus giving the Betta the chance to explore intensely; while also providing security.

Sorry for that essay lol

Oklahoma has a ban on piranhas because I have been wanting some for a long time. Bichir I like them I have only found an ornate bichir but I thought it would get to large for a 75 gallon.
