Does anyone have any suggestions for non rift lake, non "chromis" Dwarf African cichlids? I tried looking but couldn't come up with much.

Here is Alcolapia alcalicus because it was mentioned above.
The water in Lake Natron where it comes from can be more saline, than the ocean. Below a pair spawning.
Another of my favorites, from a non-rift lake is Stomatepia pindu, from Lake Barumbi mbu. The white spots are cephalic pits that help it to find prey, in the substrate.
It can handle neutral to soft water.
And from Lake Bermin, another favorite Coptodon bythobates

They were mine, after a number of spawns from each pair, I gave pairs and progeny away to interested aquarists. The Alcolapia went in a box swap trade to Wash DC, the Coptodon to an ACA member in Sy Louis, and the pindu in Milwaukee. Are these your fish?
I do not often get fish envy but holy crapsticks!!! I want.
