ATM the highest price ive seen is $1.20 AUS per litre.

Its usually around $1 though.

This is just crazy. I thought $2.39 a gallon was bad. Now $3.39 is about normal.

From what I have heard I believe that in the long run the prices will come back down. But will never be as low as they were in times past. It is a limited resource after all. Right now with all the panic, and natural disasters prices are skyrocketting. However OPEC has been producing a surplus in excess of 1 million barrels a day. Now eventually the general public is going to realize this and the price gouging will stop. Prices will return to reasonable and we can all go about our business normally for a while.
However global increase is really climbing. Especially in China. With a country that has that many people as their increase in demand continues to climb prices will keep going up.
