Hello to all the mfk people out there im new to keeping monster fish kinda jumped in fast lol.
Need help to get my tank clear. My tank was doing ok for a wile but after I changed my gravel with gravel the I had in there befor now I cant get rid of the white cloudiness .
Could it be that my tank is over crowded ? I have 2 silver aros 1 is about 13-14" and other is 9-10"
1 jardini 7-8",2 5" birchirs,2 3" silver dollers,1 12-13" clown knife,1 4" frontosa,1 5" dat,1 6" blue Wale,and 1 5" flagtail.
I will be selling most of these fish to give them room until I can get a new true monster tank around 400-800 gal.

You said it happened after you changed your gravel correct? Gravel tends to house bacteria that break down ammonia and nitrites in your tank. IME If you dont have much bio media in your filtration, changing the gravel can through your bacteria levels off. When bacteria is being re-established the water will get cloudy but go away after a few days once the chemistry is re-established. How long has it been cloudy and what do you have in the way of bio media (ceramic or bio balls, etc.)?

I have bio rings in my ac110 &in my xp4 with 3 levels of bio rings and also running carbon in all 3 filters.

Probably a bacteria bloom, You loose alot of Beneficial bacteria when you take out the gravel, it doesnt seem so but there is alot filteration done by the substrate.

How long was the gravel in there before you swapped it out? I'd be pretty confident in saying this was all the gunk, old food, waste, and other junk stuck in the rocks that came up. It happened to me a few times awhile back, didn't matter how much I cleaned the tank the gravel would be disgusting. I would honestly suggest switching over to sand as soon as possible man
