Hi guys im looking into brackish tanks and averything ive come across says that you can use regular equipment. (freshwater) I have a penguin 350 hob which i was planning to use for it, is it rated for saltwater? Wouldnt salt eventually rust the impeller? How are saltwater filters and heaters different from fresh? Sorry my hand is kinda still bad which is why my typing sucks

No difference between materials used in saltwater impellers or fresh. Same with heaters. Set it up, plug it in and watch the bubbles roll. Get a refractometer to measure the specific gravity so that you maintain accurate salt levels when doing water changes. Do not use the cheap plastic instant ocean hydrometer because it doesn't work. I have personally compared multiple brand new hydrometers against a properly calibrated refractometer and each of the hydrometers were wildly inaccurate and contradicted each other.

I guess the filter is 99 percent plastic after all!
