What exactly would you feed it? its 3" and not eating flakes but didnt try pellets just b/c of its size, any recommendations are helpful thank you.

they grow extremely fast like bigger tomorow fast. Any they get huge and can eat anthing as big as, well any thing it wants lets just say hope you have a really big tank. My biggest was 20" when i sold him.
I wouldn't feed feeders, it will be hell getting them off of them. I would go with worms chopped up or even shrimp chopped up. Hell sometimes they will eat flake food or pellets at a small size! they can be picky eaters but once they get use to what you feed them they can eat ALOT!
Like said above...are you ready for a monster! THey do grow REAL fast and get HUGE!

At 3"...feed the little monster frozen bloodworms, the occassional feeder guppies (only if you want), and once it starts getting bigger, you can try pellets, but it may take some starving to get it to eat those.
yeh id go for frozen bloodworms that u can get from ure LFS and then flaky/pellet food after he grows to about 5-7 inches. NOT FEEDERS! my CKs wont eat enything but feeders even at 38''. its a freaking hassle plus its breaking the bank!
