noodling sounds fun, but i think i'd rather pull that monster in on a hook and line

but then, i guess i never tried it so can't really say it wouldnt' be just as exciting if not more

btw, why do they call it noodling? and ts, how old are you? 13?

....Grandpa was a big boy... He didn't noodle for fun either; He did it for food. He always told me, when you reach in after a monster Don't Freak out!!!!!!!!!

Gotta agree with this I dont see why you would remove a big fish like that and kill it for fun, especially since its most likely guarding its young!
If you have to do it pls release them, or ull end up with cats to Noodle!

Here is the pic guys !!!!!!!!! For size reference, my Grandpa was about 6'3" tall and weighed between 280 and 300lbs in the picture. I can go into more detail on how he noodled this beast if you all are interested ..

Hope the OP doesn't mind. Here is the story.

Grandpa was brought up a poor farm boy in southern Illinois, hunting and fishing(through the great depression) for survival rather than sport. he would do the usual fishing methods --trot lines and such. Well, my grandpa and his brother(uncle Doc) had a old row boat that wouln't float. Doc and grandpa knocked bigger holes in the old boat and sank it in about 10' of water. When the catfish were spawning, grandpa and doc would row out to where they sank the boat. Doc would stay in the boat and grandpa would dive down to the sunken row boat. He would put his arm in the wreckage and bring the fish out slowly. In his other hand he would have a hay hook with clothes line rope attached to it(Doc had the other end in the boat). He said once the fish came out of the wreckage he would hook the fish with the hay hook and Doc would tie the rope off on the oar locks. He said,"Once you hook it good then you grab the line and find your way back up into the boat."" The fish would pull the boat around until it was tired enough for us to pull it in." Grandpa said he caught several hundred huge cats doing this. I remember asking him about the picture. He laughed and said, "That one sure wasn't the biggest, but wasn't the smallest either."
