Noooo! Cracked Pond

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
For crack repair in aircraft we normally drill (small diameter) stop the ends of the crack to stop it from propagating. I know they do it for Corvette bodies as well. Have you considered a soldering iron instead of a torch? Gap is tight and may need very little to melt and seal. Good luck on your repair.

i was going to suggest some abs cement and fiberglass mat/cloth. Weld it with the plastic welder then do abs cement with fiberglass afterwards on the outside

Hey,
I just ordered a cheap 20 buck plastic welder from harbor freight. It had good reviews and one said he used it to fix a cracked fish pond

Depending on the thickness of the plastic, it may not weld too good if it is too thin. One suggestion I have is to use a butyl sealant or butyl patch. It can bond onto the plastic material used in the manufacture of those preform ponds if it is very clean and dry. Your options are very limited. I believe Dr. Fosters have the patch kit available. Good Luck.
