NOOOOOOOOOO, seriously not happy

it is still breathing although still quite shallow and has made it through last night.
i dont want to mess around too much with the tank but did test the water to make sure it was ok and it is really fine with only around 5-10ppm nitrate and other readings at 0 and a ph of 7.4 so no real changes to what it usually is.
even though its the only fish in the tank it still gets a 40 gal waterchange every week so i know its not down to the water.
i am just so baffled as to what is going on after its seemingly good recovery from illness over the last few months this down turn is so shocking.
i will still try and keep it alive as much as i possibly can but i am now at work for 11 hours so will have to see when i get home.

i just went through it... lost 4 ST.... it made me wanna quit this hobby i would think i had it under control then it would get worse and that when on for awhile... on my last survivor who had it the worst and i think was the host... i did a lethal dose of furan2 to the tank and it made a recovery... 29 gallon tank 120 gallon dose.... really sucks i know what your going through your looks like the ones of mine that didnt make it...

I know you may not want to think about this right now but it would be worth trying to get skin scrapes, or if you lose it sending the fish to be examined/autopsied to find out exactly what happened.

Got my fingers crossed!!! I hope he pulls through!!! Picts were a sad sight. I wanna see new picts of him swimming
