thanks a lot ^

btw does anyone know how lethal tapeworms are? im wondering how long mine can survive with a tapeworm inside them? cos they are wild caught im not too sure if its having that much affect on them then i thought it would. they have grown really fast and seem to be ok...anyone else had experiences with tapeworm? seems to me like every micro that's wildcaught has tapeworm..

I wouldn't say lethal. They do tend to drain the nutrients off the fish which is why you should get rid of them as quickly as you can. If it is not working well for your fish, your other option is try any of the following: flubendazole, fenbendazole or levamisole hydrochloride. Be careful not to overdose the last one. Its side effect includes total loss of appetite of the fish. Doing a big water change to lift it off usually helps though regain their appetite so do not be alarmed if they stop eating after dosing.

Give praziquantel treatment a week or two first. Be patient.

ok, i have a friend who is a vet i'll see if she can help me out with those meds ^

but tell me this - micros who have it in the wild, how do they cope with it? or do they just not get affected by it?! or is that even possible?

did the treatment not arrive today i sent you?

i went and got it sorted for you and posted it yesterday.

all you do is mix the powder with hot water and then add that to the tank. there was the right amount there for your 200 gal tank.

nope...? perhaps it will arrive tomorrow? what postage did you use? thanks anyway :)

i sent it first class because it was 68p. next day was £4.95 so i thought it would probably get there the next day anyway with the first class.

no worries, thanks for making such an effort for me! im sure it will get here soon

hi, thanks so much for you sending me the meds - i just got it today!!! can you believe it took that long for it to get to me via first class postage?!!! how weird is that...royal mail is getting so messed up haha.

but thankyou very much for spending time + money to send me a treatment for my fish. i really appreciate it :)

neervana, didnt you post this topic while back. I posted on your post, have the same problem. when the fish is fed, they stay in, otherwise it looks like exploding white confetti down there. Please let us know how the meds went. unfortunately micro is housed with an asian arrow and medicating will require another holding tank... one that I dont have at the moment.
