I'm here in Merced too. Not to many LFS have anything good. Occasionally I'll find some good sw fish at the reef keeper. Is this tank gonna be fw or sw?

yeah reefkeeper is a nice store, mostly SW though. i talked to the owner and he also said he could get anything you want at a better price than any website...

Have you tried Pets Inc? They can order a lot of different cichlids. Don't trust their sw stuff though I got a bad case of aiptasia/glass nems from buying live rock there. I also heard there is a place in atwater that you can order quite a vairety of rare fw fish.

i wouldnt recommend this place. owner doesnt seem to know anything about fish. just cares about making a sale. i recommend Armstrong's in atwater
