So my red severum is a little weird... When he swims up and down, his body is at between a 15-30 degree angle. I don't know if all fish do this and it's just more noticeable because of how tall severums are. He also sleeps mouth up to the top of the tank and belly parallel to the side of the tank. Lastly, he misses a good amount of food. Like he'll be going for a pellet and just completely miss it as it sinks,

Anyways, is this normal severum behavior, is my fish just derpy or is this a sign of a problem?

Do you test your water ? What are the params between water changes

Missing his food is a depth perception issue that you see in a lot of heavily line-bred/inbred discus. It's possible that the same thing is happening to heavily line-bred/inbred severums. It's definitely not normal behavior if it happens consistently, but I doubt it's anything you can correct.

Honestly I don't too an excessive amount of water test, just stay on top of water changes. Did do one the night of the post though and everything was pretty normal. Zero on ammonia and nitrite and ~5ppm on nitrate.

He seems happy and healthy, just didn't know if these should be red flags or not.

From the pics he looks fine. Actually looks to be a pretty awesome specimen I'm tipping hel look beautiful when he grows up. I noticed back when I was keeping sevs that the golds always seemed a fair bit dopier, Slower and more relaxed In general than the green sevs and all my other Sa cichlids.
