rather then trying to change the water that comes out of tap .. why dont you just get the ray used to your tap water ...

my rays take my tap water just fine .. and water changes are WAY!!!! BETTER!!!

it will kill him to put him in a ph of 7 from a ph of 6 u have to have both tanks the same and i do use tap water but both tank for some reason dont want to sat neural so i have to make one of them close to the other one for the ph if i am ever gonna move him to the bigger tank its such a pia this ph crap to tell ya the truth

well i was lucky to have plenty of time to get my rays switched over .. just did 10% WC 4 times before i went to bed .. did another one before i went to work the next day and did 5 more before i put them in my big tank which was the same as my tap ... they where in a big Rubbermaid tub that i brought them home in .. from vamp .. nice 3 1/2 hr car ride .. but it worked out .. now i dont have to worry about water changes and ph levels ..

yea in order ofor him to get use to the tap water ph i have to get him use to the old one and kinda work my way down ya know....he was in a tank that was netural ph when i got him but since its a small tank it just kept going down w/ time...thought that was normal but they can live best in 6-6.75 ph thats the best ph for them

rays can live i just about whtever your ph is....

fluctuation is not good though

bt isnt gonna be a dramatic change from lets say 5.9 ph to a 7.6??? even for a drip rate ocer a few hours is still a high jump

Over a long period of time is more like over a couple days if not a week or 2, 5.9 to 7.6 is a pretty big change and I wouldnt risk doing it over a couple hours.
