I really like most of the the viejas. If I knew 90 gallons wasn't big enough for them I would definitely have gone bigger! :) What size tank do you have?
That fish was in a 125 gallon 6' tank. Don't have him anymore, this was like 8 years ago I think. Vieja are awesome, one of my favorite genus, but most don't play well with others.

Vieja guttalatum. might be my favorite fish I kept

have you seen this video? One of my favorites - I don't know how he gets them all to play nice...

That tank is 7' and 200+ gallons, which helps getting the fish to not kill each other, though you can also see a lot of aggression in even the one minute video. The thing about these videos, is it is just a single snapshot of the tank. That guy definitely has other tanks he can move fish around in if they get to crazy, and I guarantee you that isn't a permanent stock, where he put a bunch of juveniles in, and grew them out. Probably shifts his stock around a lot.
Personally, that tank is much too crowded for me. Doesn't look natural, and the fish all look like they are constantly watching out for each other. Not to put the guy down, that's just not how I like to keep fish.

That makes sense. I agree, I want my tank as peaceful as possible. (And I don't have a backup for "timeouts.") :/

Omg, he's beautiful! And soooo blue... lol! Mine definitely is nowhere near as blue (sigh...) I only had one store that had them so I had nothing to compare him to. Did you get yours from a store or online?

Thank you I bought him from a store lucky there was loads to choose from but by far he had the best colours but was the smallest so taking ages to grow him out to go in the big tank lol yours is beautiful.
