Im not 100% sure, but if i remember right from the countless hours of PME (professional military education) it wasnt until 1996 or 1998 the ICJ reassessed the legality of Nuclear weapons. There findings at tha point were that Nuclear, Chemical, and Biological Warfare (NBC) and the use of weapons of mass destruction conflicted with the geneva conventions and the st petersberg declaration (as well as a few other standing declarations that i dont recall. So my guess would be that until this assessment was made nuclear testing wasn't as big on the radar, so maybe thats why no one really threatened to enforce a restriction on NBC warfare. I really dont know for sure, just a guess. It is however illegal for us to nuke any country.

War is horrible, no matter where or when it is fought. I have already lost one friend to the Iraq war, and one more is already in Iraq fighting now. May God keep our soldiers, and may he bring peace between nations. Barring that, prepare to die, extremist scum.
sorry to get this going again but this thread is funny as hell. To the people that think that we can't invade N korea your crazy. N korea is not the unbeatable military you all think it is.. Also if none of you read into history much about the first korean war that was basically the U.S./russia cold war. It had little to do with Korea. Second the only Country backing korea that is even a concern is China, Russia is to broke to fight anyone. With the technology and weapons we posses an invasion would be very possible. I am not trying to say we would wipe them out like iraq but it wouldn't be a repeat of vietnam or the Korean war. As for the ones that think Iraq is kicking or ass get a grip on reality.. We wiped out their military in a week people.. it is the terrorists we are fighting now. and as for vietnam that was another Russia/U.S. fight. If we were to invade vietnam today it would take about as long as Iraq.. And no Japan's military is not our military.. they were allowed to re-militarize along time ago. And another thing to consider is the fact that if an invasion was approved do you actually think we would go in alone?? hell no the U.N would step in.. some of you guys need o have more trust in the people and organizations that protect our country.. As for the Bush haters I am sure you are hating the intrest rates and things you are reaping thanks to him and his cabinet after 9/11.. think about it people
