Northern Pike vs Brown Trout

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I was just pointing out that if it looks like a pike it doesnt have to be muskie. It seems to me that that is what happens when a video is posted like this. This is a forum for fish keepers so shouldnt we be able to name the right fish. Im not trying to flame or offend anyone but here is the users website, the guy who shot the film in question. If you liked this one see his others.

i agree with northern pike as the other fish are rudd or roach which aint big fish. that pike is probably only 4-5lbs and no bigger than 20" or those are record roach. If that was a muskie the roach wouldnt be there as muskie definately dont exist in the uk. If they do i would have heard as i do a lot of fishing in the uk and you couldnt keep muskie a secret for long.

Its a pike. I have caught hundreds upon hundreds of pike under 20 inches, and some do have that pattern. Heres a tip. Dark markings on a light background = musky or musky hybrid. Light markings on a dark background = northern pike.

I wonder if he ate that whole thing? LOL.

Are Pike easier to catch than Musky? I see people in videos pulling out pike like crazy but when I read about musky they are sometimes calle dthe fish of a thousand casts. You can cast all day and not catch one. True or not? We dont have any Esox native here but we have some places stocked with Tuger muskie. Now I wonder how they react since they are hybrids.
