Norton 360 Question

OK, I've been told that Norton 360 is a great program and it does the job of protecting my computer like nothing else.

Now, I've had it for about 8 months now and so far so good. But, with the exception of when I first installed this program, it has NEVER detected a "risk" on my computer... zilch. In fact, it scans over 15 MILLION files (which takes approximately 3 full days to complete) when I do a thorough scan, and it finds nothing. As much confidence as I have over my computer know-how (which consists of opening iTunes and browsing the internet), and the capability of this program, there's just no way in God's green earth that that's possible.

My question is, do you think it's normal that this Norton 360 takes 3 days to scan, and after 15 million files it still comes up with nothing? It has concerned me to the point where I'm actually showing symptoms of having trouble digesting that beef stew I had last week.

Norton doesn't do anything fast. I hate it personally.

But.. some people love it. I would say its completely normal to not find anything. I've had AVG Free for years now and only have a few viruses in my chest.

yeah, norton is a hog, it leech alot of your resources. try trendmicro or kaspersky. they do a much better job

My Norton 360 takes about 20 minutes to scan and detect EVERYTHING on my computer. I usually will have 1 or 2 phishing worms that have a really low threat level every 2-4 weeks. As I do a full scan every week and defragment and disk clean up every 2 weeks. I find Norton to be very fast easy to use and very strong protection. Haha actually it just popped up saying it's doing an auto scan.

thats too much Ming.. just switch over to AVG . Im getting to the point now where i just dont want to have an AV program in my gaming rig.

the subscription is coming up in November, so I'll probably do a little more research on a better program. I've never even heard of those before, but after a quick Google search, I might be sold.

It should not take three days to scan....Are you running a free version, or paying? Who is your ISP? Does your PC run fast otherwise?
