Norton 360 Question

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
It's the paid version. My ISP is Time Warner cable, and my PC runs relatively fast.

The 360 is pretty quick if I run the partial scan, but a complete scan takes longer than my girlfriend's morning shower... which is borderline impossible. Impossible.

Always use 2 programs. If not using bothactive, use one of them on a weekly scan only. AVG is an amazing program and free, but don't rely on it solely. I use it on all my business PC's and home PC's, even my media center. I use Nod32 as a secondary, but have found that AVG catches everything before Nod32 even gets a chance. I build PC's as a hobby and have found that the big companies sell their virus definitions so the majority of AV programs have the same seek & destroy criteria.

I thought running two AV's at the same time was not good to do?

Doesn't have any negative affects. They are not conflicting each other. Each has their own system functions and .dll files so not a problem. They can even scan at the same time.
Another great program is Spybot seek & destroy. You can grab it from download.com. Again free.

the subscription is coming up in November, so I'll probably do a little more research on a better program. I've never even heard of those before, but after a quick Google search, I might be sold.

I have great appreciation on the fantastic avatar (and the magic of wonderbras) but you're about as helpful as my obsessively lazy cat... while in her litter box.

I've been told many times to stop paying and get the better free stuff, but I don't know... I'm skeptical. :screwy:
I had Norton 360 for a while....at first I did like it, and it rarely found much on my computer except a few minor things here and there. I really do not remember what it was but I did end up having some problems with it (programs not compatible or something like that), anyway right about the time the subscription was up..WOW all the sudden it was finding "trojans", "viruses" and all kinds of things. Once I didn't update my subscription, I did get a "virus", I run AVG now...but I don't know if it's just me or what, just thought it was weird how the whole year I had the program running it never found any problems then JUST before the subscription ended it started finding them like 1-2 a week....LMAO!!
