not eating :(

hi i have a spotted gar and hes not eating and i have trided worms, maggots, chicken peces, pellets and shrimps becus here in sweden if you whant to feed it live fish it cost 5dollar for 2 fishes what shuld i do?

try store bought frozen fresh raw fish, that aways worked for mine

How long have you had him? If its a new addition, it probably wont eat for a couple/few days. I feed my gar floating frozen krill and he loves it. If it doesnt float, he wont eat it.

good point i forgot to ask if it was new...as you found out that makes a huge diff on eatting habits in gar...and most fish for that matter

i fed mine a few feeders after putting him in the tank, then starved him for 2 days, then I started handfeeding frozen fish i get from the LFS>
He loves them, and eats 3 fish a day now.
Get him a little hungry, hell eat.
Mine takes mealworms and pallets sometimes.

i just got mine on pellets, the problem was that i had too much water flow.
i turned off the pump from the sump filter, so the food sticks floated around, instead of geting stuck into the weir. now his slaming down the food sticks.
