My aro will not learn by trial and error. Even after actually slapping him like you guys told me, my aro seems to think tank cleaning means escape enviroment target rich. He tries to jump out whenever I open it. He's had the lid slammed in his face, last week my hands were busy in the tank , so I used my forehead to block his jump. this time my arms were crossed so I brought them together really quick and his bony head actually bruised my forearm, big. I push him away, grab him and pull him and hold him with one hand when I work in the tank and he's loving it. The mintue I lower my guard- Wham!

that's hilarious, sorry about your abusive aro

Would he calm down if you fed him to over stuffed before trying to clean the tank? I'm glad all i have to do is dodge bites and not taking full face blows from an arow.

Sound stubborn or nervous as hell.

Jason

the pavlovian response wont help with that kind of an aro. I would just aro proof your tank lids by putting real heavy objects on top of it like water jugs or bricks or diy yourself a lock .

The kind of interaction that you are giving may in fact be giving the opposite result

I still can't get the image of a guy headbutting his fish out of my mind.
Can you get the image of a chick headbutting her fish out of into your mind. I wasn't a headbutt with force, just a good surface for stopping a jumping aro when my hand were under him!!!! HE headbutted me, I just stood there goin" let's see if this will stop him. He kinda got tangled in my hair.

Anyway, you all need some feedback. He's 18-19 inches, he won't gut load to the point of being that lazy, he's not nervous, just a game player, and yeah, listen to rottbo, and Gu Ka'an in spelled Gu Ka'an !!! ha paybacks!!! Thanks rot
And it is all damn funny!
