the pavlovian response wont help with that kind of an aro. I would just aro proof your tank lids by putting real heavy objects on top of it like water jugs or bricks or diy yourself a lock .

The kind of interaction that you are giving may in fact be giving the opposite result

He's in a temp. 75 waiting for a 110 gal on backorder. That will probably make all the difference in the world. After that, the next goal is a 300 or indoor pond for life. My aro is good, he is playful, maybe you're right, but if you saw him, he loves attention, but the lid trick.....is a bad habit...so I switched feeding locations and he stopped doing it.



It's been hella hot 3 digits and he amps up when the temp goes over 81 (which is rare, climate controlled room) Thanks for you ideas and insight. I just added a parrot fish and ohhhh am I sorry. That LITTLE bugger is vicious . My aro at least has a great attitude, the parrot full blown attacks me. He's lookin like dinner.
