I've been searching around looking for those huge vases with the many holes that everyone uses for their cichlids. I tried drilling holes in a few terra cotta pots that I used for flowers but they all cracked. Now I have a bunch of broken half-pots. They're still... usable but I'd like to get my hands on some of those that already have holes in them. Anyone know a particular place I can get them from? Or even what their names are? I've tried googling a whole bunch of names like "vase with holes for cichlids" etc etc, with no luck so far.

i have looked for them also. i didn't see them in the bix box stores like home depot, or walmart. .... i think you have to get them at smaller speciallty nurseries.

The terra cotta strawberry pots are readily available at the beginning of the gardening season and are usually around $35-$50 at stores like Target and Wal Mart. Unfortunately, many of the chain stores are now carrying poly pots instead of clay because they're cheaper to make and transport. These will float if not weighted down.
