100 percent male jack dempsey. hes not stressed out he doesnt look like it but if I am not mistaken hes still little isn't he that's what mine looked like before take a look at him now. have fun with him they are very interactive fish. I got mine january 2010 now hes pushing 7 inches

female jds have a lot of blue specks on its chin, and less on its body. males are the opposite.

And if you get black gravel, he'll actually have colors instead of being gray.
