Not so monster cats

I need a catfish, i love them. but it cant out grow a 150, 72 X 18 X 26. i tried pictus cats but i cant keep them alive. twice now they seem fine but one day i do a water change and i loose them all (3 at a time, 2 different times). so i want to get a new cat. i wish i could get tig or a TSN but i know those get to big, so is there anything like those just not as big? also they have to be not overpriced like under 25$, and pretty available on the market.

yea limas are good there a shovelnose cat but max out in the 14 inch range
 
oops take off the syno, i missed the 18" deep part
 
ok thanks guy, i was looking at the limas. i like them. now i just need to find a place that sells them
 
not really a fan of those synos.

question, if i got a silver-tipped shark would i need to make the tank brackish or could i leave it freshwater
 
It should eventually be brackish.
