Not sure of ID purchased as a GT

I just purchased these two green terrors for my classroom, but now that they are in the class and in this tank they do not look like rivalatus to me at all and look more like a Texas cichlid. Maybe an inch in length. Does anyone here have any opinions of what they might be? Thank you guys in advance!

Yes look like Texas cichlid definitely not Green Terror cichlids.

That's what I was thinking as well, some sort of Herichthys.
When I got mine they were a greenish color. In a few days though they turned blue.

Mine were Herichthys carpinitis from a trusted source (TUIC)

Give them a few days to settle in. Maybe they will color up some to help with the identification.

By the looks of the small spotting, I'd say herichthys cyanoguttatus.

I agree with the others, certainly not green terrors, look like cyanoguttatus or a similar hericthys
