not sure what this is, help ID?

if this isnt in the right section feel free to move, as i am unsure of type of fish.
my little cousin just got this guy to go with my Parrot fish, i just cant remeber what he is xD
and theres also some sort of Catfish ill get pics of the cat tomrrow.
but some help on this fishes id would be great!

I'm actually stumped on this one. The body shape has me leaning towards and African cichlid but I'm not a cichlid guy and for some reason it doesnt look quite right so it may be some south american species instead. Whatever it is, I can say it will probably look nice when it grows up!


Also, the catfish is probably a synodontis sp, they almost always are lol.

A hybrid of what? I'll agree with the others on it being a tilapia of some sort

It looks very Tilapine to me, and because all Tilapia look pretty much alike when small, it would be very hard to determine the species.

Could be Talapia I agree it is diffacult at that age. People are to quick to play the hybrid card when they don't know what somthing is. Just grow it out a wile and we'll see in a month or so.
