Agree with Tom, the hybrid card seems to be played by people who aren't really aware of how many species of cichlids are out there. There are over 100 species of Tilapines alone.
These include a number of genus (Tilapia, Saratharodon, Oreochromis etc etc) and when young are almost all hard to tell apart, but can be quite striking as adults.

okay guys right now this fish watever it is is in a 29gallon with a small blood parrot, upside down cat, comet fish, and pleco, i think this fish is getting way to big ill get pics of his size tomorrow, do you think he woould survive with my oscar?

i used to keep oreochromis tangynikae and that EYE is exactly the same. the young ones have beautiful red orange eyes. so I guess its a tangynikan tilapia, although mine where a bit larger and didnt have that fry or stressed barring.

either way its beautiful!

every one of those fish needs a bigger tank than a 29. he should upgrade to a 90G with plans to get a 200G.

Definitely a Tilapia.

He will actually be the boss of the tank if it's a male - and a 29 is way too small for either of them.

yea its a realllllyyy crowded tank guys, and i feel horrible about overstocking it, but my cousin wanted fish and i couldnt say no, but i plan on grabbing my other 55g from my fiancee and putting the parrot and pleco in there,

a blue tilapia, and I believe that they are illegal in TX
