Yeah, these guys get BIG. They are pretty rare in the trade. They just started showing up in the past few years with any sort of "regularity". Just like any of the goupers they just need A LOT of room, food, and water changes. They are easy to care for, just hard to find.

i dont believe it is a grouper...i think its a soap fish or like you said a hind. they are just labled saddle back groupers.

It is not a hind or a soapfish, the genus Plectopomus are the subgroup called coralgroupers.

IT IS A GROUPER! Theyre awesome, one is for sale about 7 inches, finger chaser in NH!. The one for sale around me, looks even better, with nice fangs! Its labeled.... "Yellow saddle backed grouper".
