I am setting up a 75 and I am not sure whether to get a 2026 Eheim professional filter ( rated for 92 gallons 950 l/h) or the Eheim 2217 classic filter ( rated at 158 gallons 1000l/h)

I am leaning towards the 2026 because I can get them for about the same price.

Oh yeah, the tank will eventually being holding a jag.

I would go for the 2026. If you need more filteration down the road you could add a HOB filter. And BTW a 75 gallon is the bare min for a Jag if its a male jag you may need a larger tank down the road you will probabally be ok if its a female.
:iagree:

go with the 2217 the extra filtration will handle the bio oad of a jag in a 75g with no problems..
i ran 4x filtration in a 90g with 2 jags an oscar and a rather lrg common pleco and had oly slightly high levels of nitrate took care of it with larger water changes..

Yeah if he gets too big I can put in a 120 or in my 180....... so 2 for the 2026 and 1 for the 2217, to tight to tell just yet.

I hope this doesn't end in a draw or I am stuck at square 1. I guess I should have made this a poll cuss all this counting is making my head hurt:nilly:

have you thought about a sump wet/dry combo with an AC110 for solids removal?

That would be another option you can consider. Sorry for derailing from the Eheims. If you tank is going to be planted, just ignore this post. If it isn't, check out the DIY threads on sumps.

I would love to do something like that but I am sure I would just make a mess of things. So a canister it is for me.
