Hi i bought this little dude a few weeks ago..

Apparantly they got them in as Heros Sp. Rotkeil (which are non existant in my area of the UK) but they said there updated list says this...

Heros Sp Rotkeil or Notatus

The guy who sold it to me says its either one or the other or a hybrid of the 2 :S

What do you think? its deffo not a normal green...its a diff shape, diff colour and has diff markings.

It was labelled as 'Spotted Severum' with no Latin name... the guy who oredered them tho said they were originally brough in as Rottys...the updated list he got said 'Heros SP Rotkeil/Notatus?' so he said he assuemd they were either hybrids or soemthing different altogether :S

Rotkeils tend to be non existing around here...never once seen one in all my years of keeping fish, so im kinda hoping it does turn out to be one.

They had other weird wild Severums in there to...some i have never sen or heard of before.

have no clue

If it turs out to be a Female Rotkeil..is the only difference's that it will be missing those cool 'worm' like markings on its face, be smaller and not have such long fins?... or is it a drastic difference? ie..it will be drab? becasue i could go get a Male.

I was planning on having 2 Severums...was going to get a Red Spotted Sev to go with it when i got the cash.

if its a female she wont have the worms on the face and will generally be smaller. long fins are not necessarily an indicator of sex. here is my female rotkeil, she has amazing long fins

Heres my female rotkeil - she is about 4.5". This was take a couple of weeks ago when I first got her - she has darkened up a little and looks a little bit nicer now.
