To whom it may concern:

If you are trying to sell something here and say in your thread you are trying to move it as fast you can, please don't ignore PM's and posts in your threads in regards to the sale.

Over the last couple months i've had it happen a couple times and its happened to others who i've spoken with here.

if you sell your tank/fish/equipment please let those of us who were interested in it know via a post on the thread that the item is in fact sold.

thanks

p.s. - mods, if i've overstepped my limits here as a forum member please let me know and close this thread if necessary.

Sometimes, it depend on the content of your message, or how you inquire it, too. Some jack @ss called me at 11:58 pm last night to inquire about my Flowerhorn, asking a bunch of questions, which answers were already posted in the ad (like he either doesn't bother to read the ad, or he doesn't read at all) The best part, he offered $200.00 for a $550.00. :irked: :irked: I just asked if he was kidding, and just hung up. Fortunately, I was still up. If I was sleeping and had to wake up for such phone call, I might be locked up in a cell by now :headbang2:headbang2

"If I was sleeping and had to wake up for such phone call, I might be locked up in a cell by now "

that definitely sucks. i've had that happen with craigslist a bunch and don't post stuff for sale there any more.

Don't leave your phone number in the ad.. use pm's.. aint nothing that can't be asked through pm's/email and if you can't ask that way then you don't want the item bad enough. I'm smarter than that. I'm not staying glued to the phone keeping numbers/checking answering machines just to sell a item or two.

Back on topic. I hear you wright4life. While I don't know your specific examples. Some sellers are ruder than others and may overlook a post of an offer that doesn't interest them altogether or just plain forget to write sold in the thread to let everyone know.

"Some sellers are ruder than others and may overlook a post of an offer that doesn't interest them altogether or just plain forget to write sold in the thread to let everyone know."

i just get frustrated when someone will post in their thread:

"need to sell ASAP" or "really need to sell this item, make me an offer"

then when you pm/email/post on the thread and in some cases are the first person to respond to the thread you get NO RESPONSE in return. its just frustrating and something i think people who are thinking of selling something on here need to recognize.

honestly, i don't know anyone who is away from a computer for more than 6-8 hours at a time unless they're sleeping. in which case, if you are really trying to sell something, you're going to try and get to comp to see if someone has hit you up.

I agree 100%

I'll leave this open as long as it stays civil....

One thing to note, if you have answers in thread or PM form, it serves as proof of who said what. Phone conversations are all heresay. I can't tell you how many complaints I get here from members about some questionable dealings, citing their phone conversations as evidence.

I understand people's frustrations when trying to deal with others. Chances are if that person doesn't answer, either the item is no longer for sale or that particular person is not "on the ball" enough to even warrant doing business with. Just my 2 cents....

Youre right on man! It sure wouldnt take long to post one little "SOLD" message would it???

I'll make sure I do it when my Orinos sell!

Chris

"I'll leave this open as long as it stays civil...."

thanks. i wasn't trying to start a flame war, just wanted people to know that it would help out immensely if they would simply update everyone on whats going on if they do happen to list something for sale.

i hear yeah...i do believe there's no stupid questions but read before asking...

i agree with the lack of contact by some sellers but what can you do...the way i look at it is there's always opportunities and if one passes by due to lack of contact effort...another one will surface eventually..

dont sweat it...
