Hey, I picked up three of these little guys labeled as Johanna's yesterday... Definitely not anything we see around here regularly no matter what they are... Just wanted to check and see what your guys opinions are to make sure. They're only about 1.75-2" in length right now, tiny little things. But cute! And they only cost me $10 each, which was well worth it I think...

They were really red in the store, but are very washed out from stress from the move. I'll take better pics once they're all settled in and colored up again.

Looks at a quick glance to be Johanna (really strong black lateral stripe), but, no way of really knowing at that size :D

Yah, I know they're tiny to ID, but I just wanted to get some first impressions to make sure. If these turn out to be Johanna's, I'll be pretty psyched about it, especially getting them for so cheap.

Any info on whats best to be feeding them at this size? I'm using frozen bloodworms and frozen brineshrimp at the moment. I haven't actually seen them eat yet, since they're so skittish, but they don't look like they're skinny from not eating yet.

I'm really hoping to avoid getting feeder guppys or live blackworms, but I can if that's all they'll take at first.

Skip the frozen, they are still tiny, won't be hard to train them on pellets or flakes. NLS and Xtreme both have a tiny pellet for tiny fish to start them on.

they look like johannas. agree with bigpic that there a good size to get them on pellets. i like sinking carnivore pellets for when they're small and massivore delite for when they get larger.

if there real skinny i think it would be good to get them eating something. mysis shrimp are always good. alittle smaller than krill and easier to eat when they are small.

Well, they're definitely eating the frozen foods. When I checked them this morning, they all had fat little bellies :). I've got some frozen mysis shrimp as well, so I'll add that. I'll work on getting them on to pellets. Hopefully it won't be too difficult. I'm just glad I don't have to worry about giving them live food. Most of my other pikes are pretty picky so far.

I hope you get them on pellets, they are at a great size to get them on the "dry food". I also think they are juvi Johannas, and what a great pick up for $10 bro.
