Though i have never personally known anyone to die in war, my heart goes to those who have fought for what they believe in and died for. I served 9 years in the Navy as a medic for the Marine Corps-and we did alot of funerals for those killed in war, and for the old ones who moved on-i was either on the rifle squad, but mostly i was the one playing Taps. No matter now many times i heard it, it still made me feel emotional and sad.
The men and women who gave their lives so others might be able to sleep at night and not worry who has the watch are the true heroes to me. I would only wish that if i were in that situation, i would be just as brave.
