I had one do the same axact thing that its doing and i thought it was dead for sure but 4 days later it just stopped and hes fine now and thriving at 6"

Did you do anything for it?

mine use to be healthy but my bala outgrew the other and horrassed it to death

Hmm. Stop the pea idea, and just continue the medication then.
Or don't feed as many peas. Judging from size, 1/4 a pea seems like a good amount. Only feed this once a day. I should have been more clear earlier

Oh shoot. I'm getting your threads mixed up. I suggested medication because it could also be an internal infection of the swim bladder. This is unlikely but possible. Feed 1/4 a pea once a day for a couple days and see what happens. If he continues to get worse you can put him on the same treatment that I suggested for the cloudy eye fish.

Sorry for the confusion!

I would just like to update this. After spending a couple weeks in the floating breeder trap, and being fed numerous peas (and still pellets) the bala shark is doing well. It has a permanent small bend in its spine, and doesn't swim quite as well anymore, but is otherwise in great shape.:)
