That happen to my friend a Aquarium Adventures. The guy wouldn't let him buy fish because he siad the tank was only cycling for 3 weeks is takes 4 to 5 weeks even though all levels were perfect.
now I really think walmart sucks

Another thing, I know a few fish people who have worked at WalMart, my hubby being one of them. BUT for some reason they won't put you in the fish department if you know anything about them. Kind of shady.

Well First of all they cannot refuse you a sale because the oscar ate another fish. They cant even refuse the sale if the fish is sick if a customer wants a dead fish hell they can buy it. You can report the associate to management. Its the best you can do from a Customer standpoint.
I work at Wally World unfortunetly on 3rd shift and always look at the tanks, and see how underfed the fish are. its sad but the fat lazy department manager locks the food away in a cabinet so it cant feed them myself so I revert to *ahem* store using a can of fish food or two. I try and feed them at least once a day if not every other day if I cant get to it.
Doing what I do I dont get to spend too much time in a department so feeding them all the time is hard but I do try and treat the fish whenever I can. the reason why they feed them twice a week is because they eat less= less waste= less tank maintenance... LAZY FAT DEPARTMENT MANAGERS! Ick is the most common disease we have and tanks sides especially cold water have all died off once before what did they do? take out all the dead fish and replace it with new ones.....NOT EVEN A COMPLETE TANK MAINTENANCE they are dumb
we have even purchased food with our own money to feed their fish! it sucks its going to happen and you are going to see it alot. Walmart should just stop selling fish and focus on pet consumables not fish...
