Thanks again for all of the kind comments!
I really like the variable coloration of Widebars and would love to have a group of them someday. With their potential size of 16" or so, they're just going to get too large for my strangely shaped flat back hexagon 150 gallon tank. Also, Tiger and Thinbar Silver Dollars only average a size of 5"-6" or so and might look strange with other fish that big (could just be my O.C.D.).
Feeding time is interesting! I'm a big fan of New Life Spectrum food and to say that these guys get excited and swim erratically when I open the tank cover at feeding time would be an understatement! It's really fun to watch. I start out with larger sinking pellets and follow up with the little 1 mm sinking pellets to make sure the Loaches are getting their fair share.
I used to keep Silver Dollars as a kid and enjoyed them a lot. After many years of not keeping them, I'm really glad to have a tank with them again. There are more interesting varieties available now than I can ever remember and they're peaceful and relaxing to watch!
