Check out this specialty pleco tank which operates like a moderate section of rapids. I bet some difficult to keep/spawn species would become less difficult given this environment!

Nice.Someone posted this a day or so ago but when I opened the link all I got was a list of articles in Practical Fishkeeping magazine so thanks for posting.

Almost looks a bit over-kill to me, if it was twice as deep with the same sort of flow I think it would be better suited to the fish they're keeping. I'm no expert on Panaque habitats, but those are some very intense rapids!

They say with Plecos the bigger and fatter their head is, the slower the waters they call home, the slimmer and more streamlined they are, the faster the waters. This isn't always true but is a good rule of thumb

The current is to strong, those royals would have a hard time just finding foods and holding on it. It like a washing machine. Make this deeper and remove some rock and drift woods and this would be a ideal tank for a African tiger fishs, Cool setup tho.

That seems logical. I'd attempt something like this with some of the harder to keep species though, because with as many trout and smallmouth bass as I've caught from waters flowing more strongly than this, I imagine that with sufficient 'pull off' areas, this would be a winner.

I agree, seems too strong for a royal. Maybe a a rubber lip or a hillstream loach would like it

What's a great thing to use to get flow like this not looking for that much movement of water. I want more streamline waterflow in my tank not like the koralia where the water is moved in a 360 motion.
