I see no good coming from a law that creates an incentive to arm people who have no desire to educate themselves about their firearms and learn how to use them safely. If you want to own a gun thats great, but what about the suicidal drug addict with a personality disorder that buys the cheapest gun he can find to save himself a few hundred dollars.

This is one of the most stupid ideas i have ever seen. How do we honestly have people in the government that think up these bright ideas? Oh and by the way, this will NEVER pass. I can gaurantee that, its one of the most outlandish things i have ever heard of.
I feel a lot of you are missing the point of the entire thing. Its not that he is going to pass it or that it will. Its to make a point that we have spent so much time focusing on what we can do to control gun owners, when he is pointing out that maybe we should control the people who do not want to have them. It is called playing the Devil's Advocate. He's taking a stand.

I know I am the minority on this subject but I have really strong feelings against guns and I think that the system that we have in place works just fine.
