Another person I had been talking who is very knowledgeable (had aquarium maintenance business that included Disneyland) seemed to think they probably had internal parasites when I bought them. He said in his business he had seen many times where fish seemed healthy but after 4-8 weeks suddenly became ill. That fits the timeline of my ownership and may explain why I lost 1 of my female flamebacks. I have also seen a female or 2 with the same white pooh and have been feeding them medicated food. (I hope they are eating it because I see them spit it out so hopefully some is being eaten) All other fish seem totally healthy it is just these guys.
We have all lost our "favorite" fish, it's not easy period! It sounds like you provided him with a wonderful environment so he had a good life. Surrounded by 5 females, he must have been one busy guy!
That looks like bloat to me. My ruby green colony died of bloat which they started swelling up and gasping for air. They looked exactly like your kyoga flamebacks when they died.
