I think that growth rates pretty good-I find some Dats grow 1-1.5" a year. To hit 10" in that time is good

I think alot depends on the fish itself, its water conditions and diet. Believe it or not, Ive had ST go from about 2 inch or so to 8" in a year or so and an indo double in size in 3" to 6" in 8 months. On the opposite end, Ive got a AT that eats like a horse but has only grown maybe half an inch in 8 months. One things that is consitent that i noticed is that their growth rates vary alot..lol

He's def a fatty, will eat everything. He has a few more inches before I will compare him to JD's old/islanders new NTT

I don't think the growth rate on mine was horrible either. The conditions were not horrible when I first go it, but could have been better, and probably slowed it down a bit.

Like I said, it really slowed down around the 8" mark, and by that time it was in a bigger tank with much better filtration and a varied diet. It did hit the 10" mark over 6 months ago, and is probably on a 1/4" bigger. The bigger they get the slower they grow.

My guess would be it is of breeding age/size, but i do not have a clue of the sex.

If you are willing to give me yours, I'll give it a try lol.
