NTT won't eat

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
For the sake of this little skinny ntt, I'll throw it out there again...BLACKWORMS!..Can you just get a few of these & try them out for the little guy. Don't worry they're not addicting like feederfish and they will supply gd nutrients. After all these pages, we can't let this guy die now!! It might save you some stress too! Does anybody sell them around you?

i can get black worms but I rather not to since the wife is not a fan of it. If i have to ill give him a guppy. i have baby guppies in a QT. I am hopeful he will eat soon because he respond to the blood worms moving in the water. I am going to move the pleco out for a week to see if that helps him out.

The purpose of this thread is to create a log so other can see and learn from it.

EAT OR DIE
you said not to worry until day 40. Today is day 33.

not to worry to day 40! seemed like you started worrying a long time ago. Too much stress for me and the delicate ntt for that kind of hardlined approach when there's other avenues, but we're on the last mile I suppose..Hope his jaw and throat muscles are strong enough to throw food down into his thin belly if it's still stubborn day 40 and beyond

JayC-I won't let him die. He's still doing pretty strong. I moved the pleco to another tank. Lets see if the NTT come out more. I'll give him feeder this Sat if he's still not eating. Look for my update this weekend.

I did say 6 weeks is the longest I have had one go so a little over 40 days

I will still stick with my EAT OR DIE rule even if a fish does die as I have had no losses I have used this method of high priced fish $600 is the most

Even if I do ever lose a fish from this method I will carry on with it as it works in most cases

Day 36: I gave in and let him have a few guppies and ghost shrimps. He had no problem eating them. I guess i wasn't ready to see him die. I'll be starting over with pellet training.

Take a piece of shrimp, cut a slit in it, and put the feeder through the slit, and let the feeder squirm around with the piece of shrimp attached. Maybe lol, never tried it but it seems logical lol.
