I have a 2.5" NTT that recently has stopped eating. He was on dried shrimp and now he just stays under my large driftwood. Any advice?

How long have you had him and how long has it been since his last meal.....I would treat him for parasites just to be safe,NTT and young ones especially are very prone to succumbing to them.

I have had him for almost 2 weeks. last time I saw him eat was 3 days ago. I dont wanna use medications because I have small cichla and I dont want the risk

I totally understand but the mortality rate of NTT is well known on MFK.Lets just hope that it does not start with the heavy breathing and gill cover pumping.

Now,you did not mention that earlier,it is infected and must be treated or you will lose it.Get some prazipro or metro, both are pretty good parasite meds that should not harm any other fish in your tank if you follow the directions.Act fast, hope you are not too late.

yep, i purchased 4 NTT at 3" per. only one made it after 2 weeks.

they were fine and ate well, i came home one day and they were sick with pop eye and duck lips... had to isolate and quarantine but still didn't make it. i must say, they are nice and stable dats i've ever had but really sad to see them die.

i suggest you remove it out of the main tank in case he's carrying any parasites.

Actually,on the label of prazi it says to use half dose for freshwater so yeah.
