Nuchal humps

Do all Flowerhorns end up with the massive nuchal hump that is characteristic of them?

I think they're pretty awesome fish and think a general nuchal hump looks ok, but get totally put off by the ones you see that literally look like they have a giant golf ball attached to their forehead.

not really, some get big koks becuz it is in their genes but some depends on the food they eat and also must be free of stress. stress, bad water quality or bad quality really affects their kok growth.
for being a kok lover, they look more stunning with big kok and most people agree, especially srd and kamfas. haha

Cichlids with large nuchal humps look awesome. FH with huge over developed kok's look ridiculous IMO. FH looks good with a kok that more resembles a nuchal hump proportional to it's body size.

How many of these threads do we need? This was not such a frequent topic when the flowerhorn forum wasnt a part of the mfk cichlid forum haha. More people who aren't really interested in fh are making comments it seems lol.

Subjects get recycled, which is good for new members. If every subject had to be an original this forum (or any other forum) would be pretty dead.

the more uglier it gets to more awesome it looks to me. hahah most First-prize winning fh in competitions have really big koks. ive nver seen one tht won becuz of its stunning colors. cheers !
