They are 5 to 6" and I have had them for 5+ years they aren't very fast growers at least for me any ways. Last year I added a power head to the tank they were in and 2 of them started swimming together. it seems they really liked the extra current. I didn't have an extra tank at the time and there are over 20 more plecos of various species in the tank also. I would think at 5+ years old and in a gn only tank it might happen but it may take a few more years. either way I will find out. I would like a few more to add to the group but larger ones seldom are put up for sale at a reasonable price.
