Well this is my second aro that has died and let me tell you I feel quite horrible. The first one from stress and now the second which I have had for about a month and grew 2 in while I had him found a small spot to jump out. I am so bummed right now and do not plan on buying another one of my favorite fish for some time now. And I didn't miss him jump out for to long as he was still moist and slimy.

sorry to hear man, but dont give up! now you know about the small spot, get it covered and you should be set. I had a silver jump out July 4, 2010, we were outside lighting fireworks and when we came back i counted only 4 aros. Luckily it was still alive and we were able to revive it. Later that year I moved across town and lost one from stress and my favorite/biggest silver also jumped out while I was on vacation and nobody was home to save it. its all about the journey man, you will inevitably lose some fish along the way.

Dang man sorry to hear. And yeah the hole was exposed and I am using cd cases to temporarily cover it up, I don't want my bichirs or rocket gar to jump out to. And no way I won't give up just going to take a small break. Probably about a year since the lfs that I go to buys them yearly from eggs and hatches and grows them on their own. And plus I have some other things to take care of now like buying another filter and a new light. But I will not give up, I use stuff like this to better my tank and learn from mistakes.
