I would consider shipping if it was to a good home. To be honest with you, I have no idea how exactly to do that. If you have any info, we may be able to work something out.

Thanks for all the support. Most places that I have looked for a possible home have resulted in lectures about why I shouldn't have her. Truth be told, I rescued her form some kid that had her in a 55 gallon tank when she was young. I have had her since 2001. I built this tank from wood and plexiglass and it has worked out really well. Was planning on making a bigger one in an insulated garage/barn, but am returning to school and won't have room for any of my tanks. :( Some photos of the tank, it's about 500 gallons.

I applaud you for doing an excellent thing, both adopting her, knowing you can not house her for much longer, and making sure she receives an excellent home...:clap

try calling lebanon pet and aquarium(new hampshire, they have some huge show tanks, they might know someone who is capable of taking such a fish. or they might be able to take her for a while, till a suitible home is found. if you run out of time and dont have a suitible home for her.

good luck finding a plave for her

If you end up really in a spot on her, I have a 500 that I would have to move some fish to other tanks which I could do to house her, until a permanent home is found, as 500 is way to small long term. Dunno. Let me kick it around if you're stuck, but I couldnt keep her forever, just as a kind of half way house I guess until a permanent home is found. I'm in Chicago area though, so travel would be involved.
