man the last two females i had with him...he beat the crap out of them....one of the females was holding eggs for a while then one morning the eggs disappeared. I have bad luck with females and my stud...i never seem to get it right.

Those pics are great. You should try more of a male heavy ratio or a lot of females. 3m/9f or maybe 1m/5f. Never do 2 males because one will die but vics supposedly do good I have heard with 3 males.

I don't think having a lot of males is a good idea. They will tear eachother apart, I had bad luck with 4 males already in a 60 gallon. The nyerereis are extremely territorial and aggro, the whole pundamilia genus are. How big is your tank? Try getting him multipe females. My male nyererei males each has 10+ females with them. They always breed. When females are present the males will color up even better. Your female probably swallowed her eggs, because the male was too aggro towards her, that's why you need multiple females to divide aggression out or a lot of rock work for hiding places. If you want you can always strip the fry from the female and tumble them with an egg tumbler. Just get one from Joe. His egg tumblers are top notch, though I prefer DIY ones because it works and is much cheaper.

he was in a 20gal with two females and alot of hiding places, he's usually swimming in the middle in the tank but as of now hes in a 30gal alone awaiting on a 40gal and more girl friends....

That's good to hear. The 40 gallon would be way better. Get him 5 or more females if you can. That would be sweet, since your male looks so nice. Where's the flameback and does he have any females?
