Yeah, looks cool! A friend had his O tank with a lot of vallis and between the 3 they left it, looked very nice until he took the tank down.

Good deal! I did something similar where I traded a 72g and 55g tanks and stands for my current 150g.
I felt the same way with my oscar as you. Even the 72g seemed small for a 13" fish. He was constantly hurting himself, like he was unhappy and wanted to bust out. Unfortunately I sold the oscar before upgrading. Large fish need their space to move about and seem to be much happier.
Right now the tank is a smaller CA cichlid community, but one day I'd like to do a single wet pet in the 150g.
Not sure, probably a single male trimac. But my wife wants an oscar again, so we'll see. I also am thinking a salvini pair with livebarers. In any case I like the idea of a large tank with fewer fish. I'll upgrade the community tank to 180g or 200+.

you could grow out a group of oscar and end up with a pair. That would be a nice setup
