im 1000% sure its a super scam. its not fish related and was an item i posted to craigslist. i didnt have a picture and the person wants it no questions asked.

does not ask questions.
does not care to see item.
bank account?
paypal?
links me to a site?
oceanist?
mover?

i did get a legit email but its just some poop head saying its too much. why even bother me. i didnt email that person back.

I would go for it if he pays first. Make sure he pays the rite money and that u send him ur product after. That is how stores work. They get the fish you pay they give it to u.

When your gut tells you that you are being scammed you probably are being scammed.. listen to yourself... ...

I agree listen to your self. I did not was out $4600.00. The person was able to access my bank info from paypal. However it was alomost ten years ago now and paypal has beefed up on the security. Good luck

Pffft. There's a new phone based social engineering scam going on. Someone claiming to be from MicroSoft calls saying that your computer is sending reports to some unspecified MicroSoft site due to being highly infected(Clue one right there, it's infected or it isn't. kind of like being a little bit pregnant). They want to help you for free(Clue number two, nobody does computer freebies like these). Idiot couldn't hang up fast enough when he found out I only run Linux connected to the internet...

I don't even use CL to sell stuff anymore. Waaaaaaaaaayyyy too much spam & scam for me.

This^^^

When I first started looking for cars online on CL there were some cars that were sometimes 2000-3000 dollars under priced. I thought it was legit so I emailed the poster. When they replied I got email from people saying they are in the navy, army, marines, etc, that their car is in another country where they are station at. They wanted me to pay through paypal and when the transaction has been made he/she will send the car. They also said that they will ship the car to me free of charge because they are in the military and if they use the military to ship things its free. I thought that email was legit until I started seeing more cars under priced. I emailed them and they gave me the same story.

I know when I buy off craigslist I always insist on seeing the item wether it be a pic or in person. If a pic, I won't send any money until I see the final item in person. Some people get rid of items and really don't know them. I have found plenty of tanks where the seals needed replaced or items that stated like new and were far from new condition. So if possible it's always a good thing to see the item in person first either as the seller or the buyer. But as we all know Cash is typically the first way we want to deal, paypal to me is secondary. But Paypal is alot better than it used to be and they are actually willing to help out individuals in the event of a bad transaction. Just an FYI.

Wow. The "I'm an oceanist..." scam is still going on. The message is nearly verbatum to the one I received over a decade ago. I suggest zero response at all. You may not have been specifically targeted but are involved in a phishing scam looking for active email addys. Just delete it.
