Occasional GFCI Trip - Recommended Power Strip

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Also, have you checked all pieces of equipment for damage? Perhaps there is a damaged cord that when moved just the right way allows water to enter and short thereby tripping the GFCI? I'd check for damage outside the tank too.

Besides being proactive in the counting inputs at the start, they also produce plug in power usage meters, so you can see what your pulling at a glance real time. They are pretty cheap by memory.

Your draw has no effect on the gfci tripping that is the breaker's job. The purpose of a gfci is to detect a ground fault, hence their name. For example, if you get something gets wet the current will travel through the water to ground.

Hmm. Sounds like the 20 amp won't help me then. I will look at the name plate and let you know what it says there instead.

I think I might try analyzing the power as you suggested. What is the brand and name of the device in that picture? It was pretty small when I opened it.

How about a picture of the GFCI that is tripping along with whatever powerstrip etc. is distributing power.
